New Vid

Well, since I'm done with track days this season, I finally decided to put a Watkins Glen vid together.
The Glen is quite a fast track and it was a couple of weeks after this video was taken that a Porsche driver lost his life in a DE event. The accident occurred in "the Boot". I had found myself in a couple of heart stopping moments right at that corner myself so it was a day or two later that I invested in a Hans device.

As you will see in this video, the Glen does not favor cars like the Mini.

Great video Onasled. I have driven the glen a few times with the Porsche club and it's my favaorite track. You drove well for your first time there. Do you know which regional club it was when the DE incident occured?

BTW I have enjoyed wacthing the other videos you have posted

I've driven the Glen before in another car, but not my MINI, you really get an appreciation for what the NASCAR and Indy Racers can do when you show up with a street prepared car and scare the pants off yourself doing the track in 1/2 the speed the do it in !

At this time I can't endorse the wing. I do know that it slows me up on long straights.
Attachment points are dumb and adjustability is easy, but poor as you have only three settings.

By the way I looked at this car yesterday

http://members.cox.net/diasio7/index.htm

I was a touch too big for it for the price he wants. For a better price I would take it.
Car is way more impressive then in the photos, as they make it look almost like a Kit car. It is in fact far from that. Man, when he started it up ...

I love the Glen a great track to drive the MINI, turn 1 in third 4th by the time you get to turn 2 flat out all the way to the bus stop, back to 4th through the bus stop all the way to the laces, 3rd thru the laces short shift to 4th, then 3rd thru the toes up the hill, 4th along the sole of the boot, 3rd thru the heel and turn 8, 4th along the short straight, flat out thru turn 9, a little bit of brake for turn 10 and back on the start finis straight down to turn 1.

Such fun to drive especially when its raining and the high horse power cars have to tip toe thru the turns while the MINI on Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 with tons of grip is having all the fun, this is what it was like on OCT 7-9th, Tontobird, Jacques and myself had a blast.

Lime Rock indeed seems much more MINI friendly . I wish you could take your MINI on Laguna Seca! Nice work, as always onasled. Thanks for sharing.
