Local or online?

So I'm about to get my hands on a camera. I was pretty excited about the release of the D50 and went to my local camera shop and put down a deposit. Then a couple days later, I was browsing online and saw some D70 packages available for a little more than what the D50 is going to cost me. The packages contain all sorts of things like a number of lenses, memory card and bag, etc.

Now I'm torn as to stick with the local shop and help them out or get the package online and have more goodies.

Being the co-founder of a mountain bike team, I try to steer people to the LBS for the support and appreciation. So why is it so hard for me to take my own advice?!

Where do/did you guys buy from? Thoughts on my "situation"?

I bought my N70 Nikon and lenses locally, but when I made the switch to digital I bought online. The price difference between local and online for the Nikon D1x (which accepts ALL my SLR lenses) was about $700. That's a LOT of savings! So basically I'll buy locally if they can come within 15% (or $200 for big ticket items) of the online price. Any more than that and my fingers do the shopping. Pete
