This is the third installment of the monthly photo contest on NAM. We're trying to encourage members to go out and shoot *new* photos for the contest.
Follow this link for the: Rules & Submission instructions Only photos submitted to the contest gallery will be entered into the contest. Do not post your photos to this thread.
This Month's topic: Use of Color
Interpret that how you will, keeping in mind that the photos must be MINI related and that only one photo per member per month may be submitted.
I have to say that these contests are a great Idea. They have really encouraged me to start taking more pictures, which is always a good thing.
Hopefully I will have something to submit this month
Cheers
I'm finding the contest has had a similar effect on my motivation to get out and shoot more too.
UPDATE: the first post has been edited to show a prize that Alta MINI Performance is contributing to the March contest. This is in addition to what NAM does for the contest.
well once again I've entered a picture for the contest. I must agree it's nice to have these because it gets the mind going on what to go shoot...all though I must admit I had already taken my picture when I saw what the contest was. It just seemed to fit :D
I picked up a Samsung Digimax V70. It's not the coolest looking camera in the world But it's loaded with features. Plus it was the same price as the camera I returned. The Pentax Optio (P4 it think). It has like a hundred settings for night shots alone.
I had a really hard time figuring out wich one I should get between this camera and the kodak easyshare Z740. This one has a 10X optical zoom. But the Samsung is a 7 megapixel and has a swivel screen.
Anyway I got it from Costco so if I don't like the Samsung I can take it back.
You might want to refamiliarize yourself with the contest rules.
The photos will be hosted on the NAM server and there will be a thread posted in the Camera & Video Forum with all photos, and a poll on or about the 26th of the month.
I have been going out of my mind looking for this months submissions (March), are they posted here somewhere or am I really going crazy?
The contest gallery is for submittals only. You can not view other people's submissions before the 25th. That way we limit any advantage by seeing early submittal ideas.

Not trying to get an advantage, trust me, you wouldn't want to see photos that I try to take. Just wanted to admire others ability with a camera, there have been many impressive submissions the past couple of months.

While at Costco, did you notice the price on the Nikon Coolpix?
$299 for a 5MP Nikon point 'n shoot is not a bad deal. (I imagine Nikon is letting it die a slow death.)
I picked one up just for sh*ts and giggles and've been pretty satisfied with it, especially its swivel screen. It even has a pretty cool macro setting that would've been handy for the January contest!
I'm even considering using it as the only digital on my spring break road trip. If the situation calls for it, I might even use it for a future contest here.

I did concider that one except for one huge thing. I already had a 256 SD card from my last camera and the Nikon uses compact flash. It did have some cool features though.
Hey Emis, I never got around to saying it was nice to have met you in Vegas.
Can't wait to try and figure out which entry you submitted.
(shhhh, don't tell me! )
You beat me to it. I was hoping to have more of a chance to hang out with the photo people on here, pick brains and find out who the people behind the cameras are but it didn't work out that way. I actually thought you didn't know who I was because it'd been so long since I've been on the boards. I'm going to try and be a little more active from now on. It's good to have a girl on here to shake up the competition ;)
