1. it's 214 MB
2. it was shot on a canon s70 digicam
3. it's got killer music
4. and were weren't street racing in it in case you're wondering. slow driving, and being cautious but having a good laugh.
enjoy! (it's a little dark in parts but it's not boring I can promise you that!)
to all who are enjoying it....THANKS it took about a day and a half ...LOL...but well worth it

I dont think I Could...but thanks...the original file was 754 mb compressed and the uncompressed was over more....than 6 gigs...if you have some Ideas like what codec to use lemme know....however I chose the sorenson 3 cause it keeps the video and sound quality GREAT!!
You might get more viewers if you break it up into chunks--for smaller downloadable chunks. There were also opportuntities for tightening up the editing, or possibly doing some speed the video up tricks which also effectively shortens things up. The final credit roll probably is 50MB alone. LOL. That could have been sped up. Also normally when credits roll, they go in the direction of reading--for instance--- in the current version you will see a persons name first, then what they did in the movie--which is kinda confusing.
Good job though!
Richard

accually you see who they are...I.E. REDLINE RUNNERS....then the names....just that it is scrollingthe other way....TO MESS WITH YOUR HEAD!!!!...that's why I did it....the confusion....COME ON PEOPLE WE ARE NOT THE NORM ARE WE?????!!!!!
also....I purposly didn't break it up into chunks which I thought of belive me.....cuase it ruins the whole expirence.....
this was an unplanned shoot...it was spur of the moment with a PHOTO CAMERA...not a video camera...I was driving with one hand chipping with the other.....no stedy came...nothing....just raw spontineaty (SPELL CHeCK!!!)
Well, yeah that was the other possibility. I'm all for going beyond convention, but if the MINI didn't have 4 wheels and a steering wheel just to defy convention, I'd have to wonder if I were still driving a car. LOL (which btw we know the answer---of course we aren't driving a car, it'a MINI for crying out loud... LOL)

I don't use quicktime authoring, I don't know what codecs you have available. But I have done hours and hours and hours, of video production on windows to know that 8 min of 30 fps 320 video should be around 30MB tops, such as these I did: http://server1.sbtontheweb.com/forum...ad.php?t=12043

name a codec...anyone....I am interested to see 8 mins of video @ 30 fps look and sound as good
the quality of the shound on the video you posted is gurgly...if it was music it would sound like we were under water...
I too do this all the time....I get paid alot of $ for it...but I also will not sacrific the quality...granted...you are streaming....and that is totally different that what I am doing....none the less...what is the codec...I'll try it...
Ive had pretty good luck with mp4, which is mpeg 4, but i think its an apple codec, although you can view it on any computer with quicktime. I have a few movies up on my site, but I was more concerned with space issues when i encoded those, you can set the quality much higher, but the movies I have are quite small. Hope this helps!!
MP4 is both platforms, and I would try that first. Sorenson when used at low compression levels is excellent quality wise, but your source material is not. Even using sorenson, your video is filled with compression blocks. Try MP4 with moderate compression, and you will cut your size by over half right away. As for audio, sure mine is done at a lower bitrate, it was just for web broadcast and in mono. You could however use MP3 encoding and still cut your size. If I did the same to mine it might pickup 5MB or so in size. Audio is insignificant in relation to video when it comes to final output size.
There may be even better video options for you, I don't know. Like I said, I use wmv9&10, which give the results I posted - much, much smaller sizes. I have some broadcast quality vids up, and they are still less than 1/2 the size you got. Here is a 16min broadcast quality: twice your resolution (4x the video information) and even a higher bitrate audio. Twice your length, and it's only 240MB. http://www.sbtontheweb.com/video/ep5free.wmv
Encoding is with WMV9 audio and video. If I encode to your size specs it's only 60MB.
Kewl thanks I am tryin that now...at full res I think we are on to something!!!

I watched the video last night, with earbuds so as not to wake up the kids, and also saved it onto my HD. It was cool to see y'all's photo session documented. I like how you interspersed the actual (posted) photographs throughout.
Great job on the video Tuls. I especially like the selection of music with each scene.
There is some repetitive clicking in some music, I don't know if you noticed that. It sounds a lot like a problem I came across with Final Cut, if you used 44.1k sample music (from an mp3 or other file), that would happen. Use a separate program to convert the sound file to 48kHz 16-bit stereo and then use that file instead, and the problem will go away. Again just guessing that might be an issue.
I would also recommend exporting to mp4 using quicktime's export controls. Sorenson 3 is great but that should be a little better.
Thanks...I did notice it...I am not use to all the compressed media...lol..I have always been doing production level going to DVD and such so...eehhhh ya know...
Thanks so much to all for the help and I am glad you guys are enjoying it!!

Nice video... looked like fun. Great tunes, too. Would you happen to have the artist name/track? I'd like to check em out some more. Thx...
