I am fairly new to the digital camera area, so I had a quick question for the pros around here. I currently own a Sony CyberShot digital (basic point and click) and a Cannon Rebel 35mm. I have realized the limitations of the CyberShot and want to move into a better class of digital. I have an opportunity to purchase a used Canon EOS Rebel X SLR Camera and want to know what your opinions are of the unit.

Thank you.
The digital rebel is awesome. Easy enough for the wife to use in auto modes and has just enough manual control to keep me happy.
Looks like Canon has just announced it's replacement. If you can wait a week or two, you should be able to get a smokin' deal on one.
I agreee 100%! I got my 300D (digital rebel) several months ago and could not be happier! Canon has excellent lenses and prices, and I have been able to do everything I wanted to do with the equipment! From web work, to 4x6 snapshots, 8x10 for framing to 20x30 posters of landscape work - absolutely flawless!
I don't think he's asking about the 300D, I believe the Rebel X is a film SLR.
I'm not very familiar with Canon's film line up, but from what I've seen of their entire Rebel line has been fairly dissapointing to me. If you're not very in to full control of everything the camera does then I'm sure you'll be pleased, but to me the rebel line has always seemed to lack a number of controls instead opting to have the camera control them for you... not my cup of tea.
