So how long have you had the 10.5mm? Nice results you're getting from it. Have tried making fisheye photos more rectalinear? I have been thinking about getting a 10.5mm at some point. It seems like a nice lens to have. Currently though, I think my next camera equipment purchase is going to be an SB-800.
BTW, what lens did you use to shoot the moon with?
You currently have a SB-600 correct? Will you be getting rid of the 600 in the upgrade or keeping it for slave use? I realize the Guide Number is larger on the 800 but are there other reasons for me to purchase a 800 over the 600? A flash purchase will quickly follow my D70 purchase in three weeks.
Also, thanks for your input on the 24mm D lens, I will be getting the 50mm f/1.8 D lens instead.
I'm keeping my SB-600. It's pretty versitile especially with the D70 where you can use the D70's pop-up flash in commander mode to remotely trigger the SB-600 off camera.
I'd like to get an SB-800 as a 2nd flash because the SB-800 can act in Commander Mode from the hot shoe. The SB-600 can't do that, it can only act by itself from the hotshoe, or as a remote flash, but not as the Commander Flash. Since I want to get a second flash, it makes sense that the second one should probably be an SB-800.
If I were going to buy just one flash, I would get the SB-600.
Once again your thoughtful answers are enlightening. Since this will be my only flash for now I will be going with the SB-600 and then if I decide to get a second I will follow your lead and get the SB-800. Thanks again.

Haven't even had the fisheye longer than a week.
I'm trying to fight this urge to keep it on the body. It's one of those photogadgets that can get overused due to its "fun factor." As for making them rectilinear, I still don't have Nikon Capture. Photoshop Elements 3 has served me well in working with .raw files.
The moonshot? That was with a 70-300mm zoom.
My next glass? I've been looking at the 85mm f/1.8, mainly 'cause my oldest daughter will be getting married in the fall and I want to have a decent portrait prime for the occasion (oh, and Nikon is currently offering a rebate for this goodie.). (In the past, my 105 f/2.8 has sufficed, but it's an older manual focus model, not as 105ish on the D70.)
Lighting? I'd like a Speedlight also, for same reason as the 85mm lens- the wedding.
I'm wondering how effective a couple of flat panels on separate stands would be in lighting a MINI?
Also, does Nikon have any plans on offering another DX prime aside from the fish?
