Photoshop Request, Joey Mod

Ok, well, I'm DECENT at photoshop and I've been trying to teach myself...but I can't seem to photoshop my headlights well enough to look like a joey mod. I this particular picture I photoshopped the headlight rings to color match.

Anyway, anybody with superior skills, if and when you have time could you joey mod my headlights in photoshop...if possible both color matched and black, and if you think of anything else feel free to try it out as well.

Thanks,

Eric

Here's my version, quick and dirty. I wasn't sure exactly what parts do and do not get painted in a joey mod.

Thanks Kentiki...honestly thats about how my PS's were turning out. The shinny chrome makes its hard to get the correct shade and brightness. I'll probably try adjusting the brightness before I change color and then using the blur tool to make the chrome more dull.

Thanks Again...if anybody else wants to try or at least has advise on how to PS it better, let me know.

Just wondering if you still need help with this. I attached a sample below of what I have done. The short explanation is to use a mask on top of the original image, rather than changing the base image altogether.
Just holler if you need more descriptive instructions. And just so you know, I am self-taught user, so I make no claims to knowing the best ways to do things in Photoshop. One thing is for certain a digital pen and tablet is much much much easier than a mouse when tracing to make the mask.

Thanks True Joy,

I actually haven't gotten to this portion of modding yet. Haven't even painted the rings quite yet. Did get the door handles done though. Honestly this is the one painting/dechroming mod that I'm not sure about doing. With the red, the car just looks too red, and the black I don't know about...I'll probably try it some more once I paint the head light rings.

In case anyone can answer...I plan on doing this mod too. I have a Chilli Red with White top/mirrors and was wondering if I can paint the portion around the HIDs red and the remaining inside housing white? I've only had my R56 for 3 days so I haven't looked into all the different parts and upgrade options yet. I also spent 3 hours going thru the entire owner's manual too...Im' just a detail freak like that...hahaha.
