Anybody like JVC video cameras?

Looking for a video camera. I was looking over some of the JVC models and they have cameras with large internal hard drives. I really like that idea.

How is the quality of the video for JVC cameras.

Also the HD versions only have 10x optical zoom and then 200x digital. The non HD versions have 35x optical. Why the difference?
