Definitely number 2. What do you use to keep the foreground from appearing to dark? Whenever I go take picture of sunsets the background is either overexposed or the foreground is underexposed.

#4, #4 for the win!
No poll for the automated voting?

Some Guy, Kurt has the most state of the art technically advanced Canon point & shoot camera from the future using alien technology. The Nikon D3 only hopes to be able to take as good of photos. (Shhh John S. )

No.2! I am amazed you find a road around here that doesn't have traffic to take these photos. The towns have gotten so populated I find it impossible to find the solitude we once had.
Great pics all!

Hey Kurt.
I would be honored if you would take an official photo of OTTO when he arrives in February. He's on his way home now. You name the time and place and OTTO will meet you there!

#1 would love to see as an HDR with 2 pieces of grass removed (email me the full size image and I'll play with it see if I can pull off the pseudo effect) (and can/are you shooting .RAW?)

#2 technically sound, make me wonder what a starburst filter would do for you. only real complaint is active space lacking I want to turn the car 45-90 degrees and have the road face close enough to it that I could believe Swifty could motor on down it.

#3 active space again but something else doesn't fit, can't tell what though. It might just be a bland sky

#4 Again I want to see the HDR version, just ore more headlight detail and a little more sky saturation.

So do I post mine here or in the real sunset thread or the didn't make the cut thread or the current topic thread?

This thread has no specific rules, other than the normal boilerplate.

Thanks for the comments also!
#1. That piece of grass bothers you? I considered the patches in the cracks elsewhere.
#2. The angle is what gives this picture a tension, not so "normal."
#3. The sky doesn't qualify (form me). You live in a big city, so that open space throws you off.
#4. No multiple exposures, cold in just a long sleeve shirt!

Thanks cloud10! That was a busy highway. Now it's a locked gate, with survey flags everywhere. Someday it will be a busy arterial residential feeder.
