It's the latest exercise in idiocy by the Arizona Dept. of Transportation. They take roads that had no problems and put in roundabouts. I think one of the heads of ADOT must have taken a trip to the UK and come back with this bright idea. Too bad most drivers don't understand them. You should see a Semi approach one on a main road through town . It's not large enough to accommodate it. Oh well, most people avoid the area now. One way to cut down on traffic.

Driving in Italy/Europe now, I find that they are helpful to keep traffic moving in certain problem areas, but they don't belong at just any intersection. I've lived here long enough to see four-way and just plain weird intersections really benefit from conversion to roundabout.

But I agree. Many American drivers don't seem to know how to deal with them.

Roundabouts have been a popular subject before. This one seems to weed out the idiots. It's just the latest trend sort of thing.

Nice, another Prescott Mini owner.
So how many morons have you see so far wanting to make a left turn and entering the roundabout the wrong way? :impatient

Yes, you did make the deadline.

I should be able to post the poll as soon as I figure out how to... I broke my account.

I try to stay away from the area. It's bad enough on the straight roads with all the people on cell phones or otherwise occupied. It seems when they enter the roundabout they lose their sense of direction and forget there might be people in the other lane.
Funny as we had a lot of these back in Connecticut in the small towns and no one seemed confused by them. Usually they had a statue of a town founder in the center. The idea was proposed in Prescott to put statues of the town council in the center of this one.

Soon to be MINI owner. My CR/B Clubman (OTTO) is partying on the Isolde right now, heading for the Panama Canal. It has been a two-year wait so I feel like I've been an owner for a long time, just without a car to drive. I got a piece of mail from MINI today with a stencil for the garage. What a nice touch. What other car company would do that?

If he can move threads I'll start a blank poll in a club section and he can move it and add the photos in the second post if need be.

I suggested the retiring ADOT District honcho be the statue, flipping the bird. We get the latest in concrete curbing and rock landscaping (it's called xeriscaping, or said "zeroscaping").

It's an attempt to snap everyone's shutter with strobes set to full power.
