Coming up for a visit

I will be visiting the Uv of Wi and a couple of other schools that my kid is looking at. Any intrest in getting together for a pint and a burger near Uv of Wis on Sunday? I know that most here will be going to work Monday. We will will be touring the campus so we are not looking for a late night, also my kid is an 11th grader. The kind of bars that I hung out in as a 20 year old are off limits (sins of the father kind of thing). I'd like to go to a local place that would be ok for a youngun. Even if people do not want to get together I would like some input on where to end the day.
As a last request - if any of you happen to know someone on the crew team my kid would like to meet them.

Happy motoring all
John

Sounds like fun. I do not know if you getting the to late to do anything about joining up. I will want to speak to you about the local MINI dealership. The brake warning light came on during the trip from Beloit to Appleton today. The light is still yellow but I called my dealership who said it will go red soon - I have no idea what that means. Needless to say I am rowing the gear box more than normal at lower speeds and driving at higher RPMs (better engine breaking) than normal.

Oh yea, the Kid. Do not be looking for my son. She does not like it when I call her that.

The best standard feature of any MINI is the other MINI owners.

My daughter and I had a great time on this trip. I would like to thank all who sent e-mails and the like. I received several e-mails from folks with great ideas for this trip. I spent some time looking through the Milwaukee MINI site here on NAM and saw that you have some great events. Also a very big thanks to FrancisK who met with us for dinner Sunday night then took us for tour of Madison and the Uv of Wi campus. We had a great time.

The car made the trip home without the brake pad warning going red (it remained yellow and is at the dealership for new pads now). At four different fillings I caculated 37-38 MPG doing 70mph. This figure us much better than my normal 32 MPH on trips most likely slightly slower than my normal pace and staying off the brakes have something to do with the numbers. We are talking a very large pad between me and any car in front of me (six to seven seconds instead of the normal three). It wasn't until I hit the mountains in PA that the MPGs started to go down.
