MINI of Omaha - March 2007

Great news for all you Nebraska MINI owners. I just found out that Markel BMW in Omaha will be getting a MINI dealership in March of 2007. I emailed them and they sent me this.

Hi Ryan, this is Steve Moore, I'm a Client Advisor with Markel BMW.

Yes it's true we are getting the MINI Dealership. March of 2007 is the expected opening date. I'll keep your name in my MINI file and let you know as we near completion.

Feel free to stop by and take a look at our BMW's, Jaguars, and Land Rover's. We currently have phenomenal lease rates on Z4's if you're looking for a fun summer car.

Steve

I think this is great news as now we can officially have a Nebraska MINI club or something. As far as I know there is no MINI club in Nebraska, the closest that I know of is the KC MINI enthusiasts which are a great group of people. The Baron MINIthon was great last year. So I really think we should get as many MINIs in and around Lincoln and Omaha to form a club so we can welcome the new dealership. I am from Lincoln and see many many MINIs motoring around town and I will be working to inform them about it. I am willing to help do a lot of the work to set everything up and all that. So if you have any input or anything, please say it here.

Oh yeah I'm the one driving a HB/W MCS with White Viper stripes. Give me a Honk!!!!!!

Hey im in. Just let me know when and where. I'll try my best.
Ya and Markel is on the outskirts of the Westroads mall 108th ish.
I know the guys down at Tincher auto in Plattsmouth too. They drove to KC to get my mini for me and fianance it. If we got a club goin they are part or whole owners of the mid america motorplex if memory serves me and I bet we could get a deal on track time.

I'm still trying to inform the MINI's around Lincoln. I have to chase them down pretty much when I see them. Anybody else have a better way of doing this?

I read somewhere that Markrel is tearing down their old building and building a new one and I think it will still be in the same area.

I don't know how ture that link is but oh well. at least we know that they are getting a dealership.

Thats sweet that they are co owners of the Mid America complex. I am so for getting some track time if thats possible. I can't wait to try and get this whole idea going. So if anyone wants to help thats awesome.

When we started the Sin City club, we got the 1st group together by emailing all the Las Vegas registered owners on the Owners Lounge. That's a good place to start. Do a search for all Nebraska and Council Bluffs.

I might join since I visit Omaha regularly and got my masters at UNL.

Hey guys,
It's me Jim from Minden. I have been putting out the word to the local MINI owners that I meet out here in South Central NE. I thought a get together at the new dealer would be a great idea. Maybe closer to the official opening day.
As you can see Cooper Owners of Rural Nebraska has art work now.
I look forward to doing some things with the Omaha/Lincoln MINI's.

PM if you guys are going to do something.
Jim Petersen

Hi Ryan,

My name is Craig Herndon and I drive a yellow Mini with Black stripes and Top and I think it would be great if we all could meet at the Dealership or do something for their grand opening. Put my name on the list. Thanks, Craig

At the press launch for the R56 MINIUSA made a point of bringing this particular dealership to everyone's attention as a move to what future MINI dealerships may look like. They are very proud of the design, and from what we saw understandably so.

UPDATE!

Sounds like the 1st of March is the new projected day. They get the keys in the morning but the service area is not ready yet nor do they have inventory so that could put a damper on things. Wouldn't you like to see the completed dealership? Going now would be like getting your MINI half finished.
More Dealer UPDATES to come.
