End of Summer Picnic

Is it hot enough for you? I'm sure your MINI really hates it when you press that A/C button every time you go somewhere. So since this summer appears to already be a scorcher, let's plan something to look forward to in the late summer/early fall. Would you all like to do a picnic on a Saturday sometime in maybe late August or early September? Where would you want it? Do we want to do a destination drive somewhere and have the picnic there or choose somewhere locally? Let's brainstorm some ideas folks! This might also be a good time to reach out to all those members of the club that never show up at the monthly get together's.

I vote for a "destination drive" to FD Roosevelt over in Warm Springs some Saturday in late September (It's about a two hour drive from Macon). Some of us can camp in the park while others drive up that Saturday. There's things for anyone to do (antiquing in Warm Springs), easy hiking, tours of Little White House, Callaway Gardens is close by. Anyway, thats my 2 cents worth now let me hear yours.

An end of the summer picnic sounds like a phenomenal idea! I vote for a destination drive, too. I like the idea of Warm Springs but I also wanted to plan a club drive to Callaway this Nov/Dec to see the Fantasy in Lights. Last Dec we only ended up with 2 members going because of conflicting schedules with a Christmas parade but this year I'd like to get more participation for it. We did the same things...visited the Little White House, antique shopping, saw Callaway, & took on some curvy roads. Anyways, I wouldn't mind doing it in September while things are still blooming but I also would like to do it again in Dec to do the Fantasy in Lights. I don't have any other suggestions but will post again if I come up with something. Oh, if we do decide to go that way we could possibly contact those in Columbus & also those in AL that we met at Helen to join us.
