New to Georgia, need advice

Just moved to Greensboro from Indy and after buying my son his Mini Cooper in 04, I am ready to order my Cooper S convertible but am concerned about the reviews I have been reading about the Atlanta area dealerships. I thought the Mini owners here could advise me of the best place to go for ordering and for service.

Go to MINI of South Atlanta for your purchase. They'll treat you right and their service department ranked #1 in the nation last month to boot.

Have fun picking out all you fun bits on your new MINI and happy motoring!

Welcome to NAM from Middle Georgia MINIS! I moved to Milledgeville from Indy a couple years ago and had the only MINI in the area now there's several running around. I've had good luck with Mini of South Atlanta with Ray Godman being being a great SA. Georgia Classic Cruisers has a cruise in at Harmony Crossing the first Fri of every month.{georgiaclassiccruisers.com] Nice bunch of people, check em out. I had my Corvette at their Car Show on 4/19 in Greensboro. Middle Georgia Minis will be meeting at Starbucks in Warner Robins on 5/17/08 about 6:00PM. For more info contact lawmann on the MGM site on NAM. Keep in touch and maybe we can meet up someday.

Really appreciate the info. I'll contact Ray Godman and let him know that "Silverbullit" sent me. I'll let you know when I am cruisin' around in my new baby and we'll definitely meet up. I live in Reynolds.

Welcome to the area OconeeWalker! I think with any dealership you will have a few individuals that have a bad experience. I think both MINIs of South Atlanta (MOSA) and Global Imports offer good service. I've had issues at each, but they overall are pretty good. You may find the selection at Global Imports better; we just had a member tell us the inventory of vehicles is better at Global than MOSA. I'm sure which ever one you go to you will have a great experience.

If you get one by the 17th, come to our club meet at Starbucks if you get the opportunity.

Welcome to the MINI community!

A big welcome to the area OconeeWalker! I've dealt with both dealerships, too, & I think you'll be pleased with either. We have another member from the Reynolds area so be on the lookout. Feel free to join us at the car show or at the meeting at Starbucks afterwards. We'll have a good mix...Clubman, JCW, S hardtop, S convertible...& those are confirmed participants.

Always nice to find another Hoosier! I thank you all for your input. I imagine I will be ordering as I have searched the inventory of both dealerships and don't want to settle for less than everything I am looking for. I'll be looking for all of you folks at future club meets!

Thanks.

Not to steal your thread, but I'm also a displaced Hoosier who is now in Atlanta! I'm getting my MCS in about a week to ten days here. It's crazy how many people I meet in Georgia who came from Indiana...

Well I work at CarMax in Lithia Springs, so I'm getting a slightly used one right now. I'm doing a transfer from a store in VA, so that's why it will take a little bit to get here.

Call MoSA and talk with Amanda. Total MiniNut who will not steer you wrong. On the lot inventory is probably slim everywhere now with gas prices . I had a coworker who could not find what he wanted online in the SE. ordered what he wanted from her a few weeks back and is will be here next week, he is totally pumped! LOL
Jason the sales mgr there was at TGP a couple of weeks ago for the Wicks school they help sponsor and drove a 5 series over becasuse they had no mini demos on the lot! Selling as fast as they come in.

Good luck with your search!

Tim

Slim Pickin's

Global Imports in Atlanta also has just a few MINIs on their lot, but I believe they are receiving a truckload of them today or tomorrow; unfortunately I think many of those are already claimed.

I agree with TLMCS05, the gas prices are really beginning to drive sales. I'm wondering if MINI will be able to keep up with demand.

I hope you are able to find what you are looking for.

I really appreciate all the advice and input. I'll wait as long as I need to get exactly what I want. If I don't change my mind again, I want a MCS Convertible black/black with the Sidewalk package.

Anyone have any experience with the JWC air filter kit? Info says it adds 5hp but is it worth the $450? What about increased engine noise?

JCW Air Box

You'll get a better product getting one of the after market Cold Air Intakes (CAI) which run about $129-$300.
