Anyone going to the MITTY at Road ATL on May 3rd? Shaun & I can't make it to the MOTD this year but are satisfying our need for speed with a day at the races instead. http://speedfest.classicmotorsports.net/
I will be there. I Havn't decided if I will bring the MINI or not. Does anyone know how the MINI corral works? Do you have to regester for it prior to the event? Will there be parade laps for the MINI corral?
If it looks like the corral is fun and easy to do, we may pack light and bring the MINI!

BRING THE MINI!!!! The infield is a BLAST!! The way it worked last year, you had to get the infield parking. The areas set aside for the various cars was large, no reservations required. We should have at least 4 from our club there. Last year there were at least 40+ MINIs/Minis there. I imagine the same will be true this year. Last year MINI USA sponsored the Mitty, this year I think it is Ford. Anyway, I think the only qualification for the parade lap (which is free by the way) was to have at least 20 cars. I'm sure we will have at least that.
I purchased our Mitty Tickets online, but you can get them the day of the event at the drive-up gate. $25 admission plus $10 for infield parking. Go to: http://www.roadatlanta.com/event_det...so&-Token.id=3 for more details.
Where did you order your tickets from, and how were they only $25??? Road Atlanta's website doesn't show to be selling the tickets in advance...though they normally do...
Also before at times there have been trams to take you around the track, but other times there hasn't...if there isn't will we be able to park in the corral for a while, and then drive around to spectator hill etc??
Thanks!
I think we will bring the MINI!
I have been to this event many times in the past, but this is the first in a car that has a corral! I'm really looking forward to it, plus my dad got a new camera, so he is really looking forward to using it!
Can't wait!

Go to http://speedfest.classicmotorsports.net/ and click the "Tickets and Registration. $25 admission and an extra $10 for infield parking. That is where the MINIs/Minis will be. When you get the infield parking you can drive where ever you want and park. We would move from the MINI/Mini area to curves 6/7 and back again. They should be allowing us to do a parade lap again this year (it's free, you just need to sign up for it before 10:30 - 11:00 AM like last year). We will be getting there early (9:30 AM), just look for the MINIs, I own the 2006 Space Blue/Silver Checkmate.
You can also get your tickets that morning at the gate. MOSS will have their dart tournament again this year too.
It says that a 3-Day ticket is still $45 [includes Infield Parking though]....what is the $25 Admission you are talking about?
The $25 is for Saturday only. Sorry I wasn't clear about it. Saturday is the best day to attend, that is when I will be there. Last year I did Sat/Sun. Below from Cassic Motorsports website at http://speedfest.classicmotorsports.net/tickets.php
If you are there more for the MX-5 cup, mustang challenge, etc....then yes Saturday is better, but there is only a couple of HSR Feature races on Saturday, and I am there just as much for the Historics as I am the new stuff! To each his own I guess!

It's all good...both days I mean. I just got more out of Saturday because the vendors were packing out starting around noon on Sunday last year. I agree, the vintage racing is the best.
I don't mind at all Lawmann. The MINI presence was very low this year compared to last, most likely due to the Dragon eating all the MINIs. Hopefully next year, The Mitty and the Dragon won't be at odds.
Whenever I finally get my MINI, I'll try to hook up with you guys at one of your events. I'm in Augusta, so I'm pretty much two hours from anything MINI related.

Fullpint,
One of our sister clubs within the Southeast MINI Alliance (SMALL) is the MINI Motoring Club of the Carolinas (M2C2) which has chapters all over the Carolinas, I know they have a chapter in Columbia, SC. You can ask by going to www.m2c2.org. Maybe they have one closer. They're really big into the autocross through the SCCA. We did the MINI Invades helen event in February with them, they are a great group. Let them know we referred you.
