Start:
8am at the park and ride lot on Hwy. 41 and rd. 200.
Its the Oneals/North Fork turn off. The lot is on the right hand side.
From there we will head into Oakhurst to pick up the others along the way.
We will meet at the Starbuck's on 41, left hand side, a little past Hwy 49.
Then we will head through Yosemite, $20 entry fee, go over Tioga pass and into the town of Lee Vining & the Famous "Whoa Nellie Deli"!
The chef from Mamoth Ski Resort cooks up gourmet meals here in the off season.
The Fresno meet point will be at the Starbuck's at Shaw just east of 41 at 7am.
We will leave there by 7:30 am so we can caravan to the meeting spot.
Cheers Rob

That sounds like a great run. And the Whoa Nellie Deli is an amazing place, I have been there before. Can I come as a guest from SoCal? I just have to leave home about 4:00 AM!!

Well we got home about 5:20 PM under very smoky skies. While coming down Hwy 49 from Coulterville we got to see the big DC10 (and it was big) do a fire retardant drop just over Mount Bullion. Come to find out there is a mandatory evacuation of about 300 homes in the fire area. As of now we are not in anyway in danger of fire reaching as far as Mariposa town. Fire is probably 6 to 8 miles north and would have to come down hill and cross Hwy 140.
Apparently the fire blew up this mo00rning and went from 5% contained to uncontained and went from 1000 acres to 7000 acres.
Hope you guys didn't have too much smoke to contend with going down 140, and every one got home safely. Otherwise had a great time and look forward to doing it again.
As most of you know, we stopped in El portal and visited Tom's bother. Their power was out and not expected to get it back for another two days. we were there for about 1 1/2 o 2 hours. We left around 7:00. We had noticed that there was ash falling around us but when we got out to the car it looked like a dalmatian. White ash every where covering the car. As we were leaving and we crossed over both bridges we saw it the fire was cresting at the top of the mountain. We pulled off to the side of the road and got some pictures. Man it lit up the whole top of that mountain. As we continued our way home I would say that we passed no less than 50 sheriff/Highway patrol. They were closing all roads on the right hand size. I did hear from Tom's brother that it was arson and that they caught the guy! We had a great time today THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!

Hope the conditions were better today in the area. We were sure glad to get off of Tioga Pass in almost complete darkness from the black smoke.
At one time, there were 9 MINI's and 1 Z3 on the tour. We had nice sights, good company, cool temperatures and good food at the Delli. Thanks to all for making this a great run.

Thanks All! We had an enjoyable run yesterday. As always, the MINI family is the best. The drive home through the fire area was like your were entering into the twilight zone. Very freaky. Long day, but well worth it.
