Motoring to Memphis

OK I will be heading to Memphis for a weekend, and wanted to know a couple of things.

Best place for BBQ?
And something to do when I get there?

I'm going to visit my g/f familly, but she said I could have a day to have fun. =)

Memphis BBQ

The choices for good barbeque are endless here in Memphis. I feel the absolute best places are Interstate BBQ Jim Neely's Interstate Barbecue on South 3rd Street and The Germantown Commissary Germantown Commissary
However, Rendevouz BBQ Rendezvous Ribs downtown is probably the place to go.
Visiting the clubs and shops on Belae Street is a must
Welcome to World Famous Beale Street, Home of the Blues...Birthplace of Rock N' Roll - Homepage
and a visit to Mempis certainly is not complete without at least driving by Graceleand. Elvis Presley - Official web site for Elvis Presley Enjoy your visit to Memphis!

Sweet thank guys! I already told her we were doing to drive past graceland. $50 for the tour would be cool if she like Elvis at all. But I told Bean we would at least drive past. =) I owe him that much.

I wouldn't plan to spend too much time driving around Graceland...not the best part of town. Here is some info I put together for the MINI Takes the States group. There is probably some stuff on there you might find useful.

Just wanted to thank you all for the great ideas. I had a great time in Memphis and even saw a few MINIs. I saw a silver on parked in a garage at Midnight near Beale Street on Friday night. The MINI has Hawaiian flower seat covers. Very cool. It was on the 3rd lvl of the parking garage. I also so a man driving a Pepper White one on Saturday. I waved, and my g/f said "no stop" I thknk her reason was because I was in her SUV. I saw a few others drive past the hotel.

My MINI was in the shop. =( I was very sad. So if you saw a crazy guy in an red SUV waving at you, that was me. Next time I will have to get my MINI to go with me. I took him in for an oil chainge, and to find out about this funny noise. Turned out there was something bent on the underside.

I will just be glad to have my MINI back and sleep in my own bed. Hehehe. Great City. Beale Street was great, so was the Rock and Soul. Thanks everyone!
