We got our Clubman back!

We went and picked up the Clubman yesterday morning! It's good to have it back and it looks like they did a decent job. I noticed a couple of things and they said to take it home for the weekend and get a list of everything we notice, so looks like we will have to go back next week to get a couple of things taken care of. I think that Sunday is supposed to be sunny, so it should be a good day to look at everything once I get off work. Anyone want to help look it over Sunday?
Also, there is a strong paint smell. Is it supposed to be like that and if so, how do we get rid of it?

Congrats on getting your Clubster back.

That had to be a long hard wait. As far as the paint smell goes I think it is just the paint out gassing. It will stop in a while. Best thing to do is park it in the sun with the windows down. The sun will help bake out the gases.

Thanks! Looks like it'll get parked outside the next couple of days then! The smell is giving my wife a headache. Hopefully this will help.

If that doesn't help, I'd call the shop & ask what their thought on it is. Paint fumes make me sick.

If it is sunny tomorrow I suggest that you wash the car. That is the best way to inspect and see up close all the details of the finish.

Sounds like the clubby is getting a bath this afternoon!
I've already noticed a couple of trim pieces that are obviously not in alignment and they didn't even take the protective film off the door sill plate. There is also a lot of residue all over the black trim from where they waxed the car. I would have thought a shop like that would have been a little more careful. All of these things are adding up to my wife not being happy. Her biggest issue is with the paint smell and they tell us to leave the windows cracked. Hopefully leaving it out in the sun the next couple of days will help.
