Sorry I've been AWOL at some of the events lately, but money's tight and yadda yadda, blah blah blah...
In the grand spirit of "networking" (which I'm told is The Big Thang now), I'm coming to you all, (metaphoric) hat in hand to see if anyone out there can help me.
I got laid off from my job of 12 years waaaaaay back in February and I STILL have not found a replacement. My severance is dwindling rapidly, and as much as I've been enjoying the writing time, I really need to get back to work.
If you'd be so kind, can you please check your company's web site and see if there are any openings for a Product Manager-type person where you work? My experience is with tech and internet security-type products. I'm basically a product strategy kind of person, specializing in planning out a product's life-cycle and release calendars, based on customer needs. I can also do pre-sales technical engineering support, once I learn the product. I was at CheckFree (now Fiserv) for the past 12 years, representing their online bill payment and anti-fraud products. I'd be glad to work on another tech- or internet-related product, or even on a manufacturing/durable goods type product - I can talk to almost anyone about anything when it comes to product feedback.
If you know of any work out there for someone like me, please drop me a line in here or at my work-related email: matthew.cook@email.com, and I'll be happy to send along a current resume and letters of recommendation.
Thanks a million in advance and I hope to see everyone again soon, once I get back into the swing of things!!
-Matt
