Is anyone interested in going up to the vintage races at Mid-Ohio this weekend? Mini is the honored marque, 50th birthday & all. If you sign up for the battle of the Brit's car-show you can do a parade lap of the track. I know there are some of us who like parades.
you forgot... & Spawn. Unless there is another Kim
This looks like the event not to miss. But then the less it is posted about it the more fun it will be
for those who don't get the joke (I hope fellow artist appreciate): Less is more
Meaning
The notion that simplicity and clarity lead to good design.
Origin
This is a 19th century proverbial phrase. It is first found in print in Andrea del Sarto, 1855, a poem by Robert Browning:
Who strive - you don't know how the others strive
To paint a little thing like that you smeared
Carelessly passing with your robes afloat,-
Yet do much less, so much less, Someone says,
(I know his name, no matter) - so much less!
Well, less is more, Lucrezia.
The phrase is often associated with the architect and furniture designer Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe (1886-1969), one of the founders of modern architecture and a proponent of simplicity of style.

Lots of fun today and some nice Minis as well. I would post pics, but Chuck was there so it is best to wait for the quality shots. Digby says thanks to Spawn for the cookie
uploaded my pics, not too bad, but all from the parade laps not from the races:
We had a great time seeing everyone yesterday. Spawn wants to know when Allen is going to be available for driving lessons. The cookie was a bribe and apparently worked. I'll post pics later the good ones are on Spawn's camera.

Today (Sunday) was great. not sure if anyone was there. It rained a little bit right before the parade lap but it made the track so much fun, sliding and getting sideways everywhere. The pace on the parade lap was so fast, I think I got up to 70 on the straight. I will post some pics when I get a chance.
Looks like you guys had a blast! Turns out one of the kids from my camp last week gave me a bit of a cold, so couldn't have made it even if I wasn't "a dull boy"
We'll have to plan on it next year. The one time i was there we were in some bleachers and got fried to a crisp! Where did you find shade?!
I've seen that in the past also. That is a good way to have that privilege taken away. I understand a Mustang even spun on a parade lap. Kind of funny & sad at the same time. I'm all for driving fast on the race track, but not during a parade lap. That's just me, glad you had fun.

Not sure how to take that?
your happy I had a good time but then you say I might get the parade lap taken away for everyone?? I was just going as fast as the pace car would let us. I was safe and wasn't close to the other cars either. I wasn't in danger of going off the track
Take it any way you care to. I thought what I said was pretty clear.
The fact that one Mustang spun tells me at least he was going just a wee bit too hot. Do what you like. I was just pointing out what I believe to be fact. If you want to go fast on a track (highly recommended) pay your money strap your helmet on & go have fun.
