Thanks Cooper!

Sounds like you want to hit most of the events I am (was going) to hit as well! BUT, since the wife's friend is getting married on Sat... we'll be leaving sometime friday to head north... luckily we're camping, and no rooms to cancel!

I'm sure I'll find plenty to buy in the couple days we down there though!

Since we're leaving early, I'm thinking I'll be making my own midnight run, sunrise(-ish) run and such!

Radio Channel

I know this would be on the "organized" side of things... but is anyone from the club planning on using radios down there and is there a channel that is planned to be used?

its almost impossible to use a radio down there, cuz of the mountains. even cell phones are hard to find signals for. when we ARE able to use 2-way radios, the MINI channel is usually channel 7, subchannel 22..i think.

Very nice. How much beer should one bring to the swap? Didn't see anything mentioned.

Most suggest a case or two, which is a lot, but when you see how many different beers there are to sample and trade to get, it becomes more obvious why some bring that much so they can go home with a huge collection of bottles to "evaluate" at a later time. Last year I brought two cases & for me it was a bit much. This year I won't bring more than 1 case. I am going to be judging the Beerlympics again this year, so I hope to see you there!

Casanewt, that is the link that got me started thinking about this! Thanks for the link! Cinci Minis don't have their own channel either?

Then again, I'll be so busy cramming a 4.5 day event into 2.5days, that I probably won't have time to talk to anyone!

We do have a channel on the list (15 sub 15). We will only have about 5-7 from our club at MOTD, so any of you Mid Ohio folks are more than welcome to use our channel as well. That way we may actually hang out together!!!!

My fault! I must have missed your guys name! Thats what I get for skimming and not reading!

I'll definitely try to meet up with you guys while we're down there, and if all else fails, look for the Mid-ohio union jack grill badge on an 06 CR MC!

Woohoo! We're in for the dragon. I just booked a cabin off Lake Santeetlah that I found on vrbo.com. I just hope 8 hours with two kayaks on the roof isn't too annoying.

Im officially out for MOTD. Wifey got some bad work news last week, so won't have the extra funds for MOTD and the family trip that we already have planned.

Actually we are probably going to head down to Kentucky to visit some family and go to Dinosaur World (something I saw signs for when I made my trip to Nashville). Besides being a Thomas the train and Cars fan, Lil' B.A.D. is into dinosaurs, you should see the looks we get from people when he starts rattling of names like Parasaurolophus

We are planning to make Cincinnati our halfway point from Rochester NY to MOTD. IF there is a caravan meeting up in Ohio we would love to join if we are welcome =). We are leaving Tuesday after work and will be leaving from Ohio on Wed morning (30th). I will have the GPS with me so finding a meeting spot shouldnt be difficult. Thx!
