A Year Of Michigan MINI's

For fun, I thought I would post this over here.

At this time of year I like to look back at the past year remember some of the good and not so good times, hear are just a few of my thoughts,

A Year In Review

We started in January like we like to do,
With a planning meeting to meet and see who is who,
Events to organize and discuss,
Over the bills, there was such a fuss

In the Michigan winter, oh what a drag,
So what Chad got inside his bag.
With exhausts, pulleys, intakes and all,
It's that time of year, it's time to install.

In March we had a call,
From Motor City MINI, come have a ball.
It's 101 MINI’s at Comerica Park,
Come on down and have a lark.
From Canada and Ohio they did come,
To convoy on 75 and join the fun
The SAE we did go,
The State Police they were in tow.

In April our website went Funky,
Time to call Tom the tech Junky.
After phone calls and “E” mails, he did not reply,
It looks like our website has gone Bye Bye.

Along came Twister from the land of First Flight,
He would help us with our website plight.
So Scott and Twister worked hard like the Borg,
The very next day we became a dot Org.

We ran the Spring Fling from End to Start,
It was Phil’s idea some kind of brain fart,
To places in Michigan oh what a mess,
He forget to bring along the GPS

From overseas comes the news,
A whole new car with familiar design cues
To celebrate the end of the R50 & 53.
MINI announces a limited edition they call the the GP

In May, the Michigan MINI’s made there way,
To North Carolina, there was a Dragon to Sleigh.
At Fontana we did swapped beer,
The Dragon always brings lots of cheer.

We cleaned our car and made them shine,
It's cruising season, it's been along time,
Gratiot, Woodward, Port Huron and Down River too,
With a honk of the horn and a wave how do you do.

It's the 4th of July Independence Day
Along came the MINI’s to help make hay.
To help celebrate they did aid.
By joining in the Northville Parade.

MD & E, Battle of The Brits, lets not forget rolling art,
The Michigan MINI’s they did take part
To show our cars we did prepare,
And Sid came back with more hardware.

July and August it's season's eating's,
With BBQ’s and Picnics and even more greetings
With cookies and grilling fare,
The Michigan MINI’s show off their culinary flair.

In August it time to take the states,
MINI’s cross the country post hast.
From Monterey To Lima Rock,
This event was hard to knock.

Then comes Michigan MINI’s largest event of all,
The one they planned up at the mall.
They came from near, they came from a far,
To part the waves with their little car.

MINI’s Great Lakes Crossing was the name,
Crossing lake Michigan was the game.
With a wave goodbye and a farewell kiss,
It was time to raise some money for Make A Wish.

At MIS we did heed,
Oval driving at Great Speed.

Fall brings color, fallen leaves as well,
It's time for the annual run to hell.,
Cider, donuts & toffee apples too,
The tires don't always stick like glue.

As the rain and snow begin to fall,
It's MINI’s time to say farewell to one and all,
Until the spring when we will grow,
In the Michigan Springtime glow.

Please add you comments to this thread, or your own favourite moments of 2006 and don't forget if you have an idea or want to organize or help organize an event next year, please come along to the annual planning meeting on January 27th 2007
