I am a student at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor as well as a MINI nut and MOTD veteran. My chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (http://www.engin.umich.edu/soc/sae/index.htm) is putting on our second annual CarShow Oct 27 11am-4pm. I would really love to have some local minis involved and entered in the show. Right now I am the only lonely one. Hopefully we can sweep the European Import Category (1st - 3rd)! Feel free to enter another car you own as well. Did I mention registration is FREE and everyone registered gets a lunch (vegetarian option available) and t-shirt! There will be prizes for the winners (trophies for top places). Look out for some famous Alumni and our school's project teams, which will be there too.
lol yeah that car is a little nuts. from what i hear (i wasn't involved last year) our judges weren't very qualified last time, I wasn't a big fan of that car myself as i prefer go over show and the interior was pretty cluttered for a 'race' car, the fake scoop on the 07 S make me ... hopefully i get can an 07 S engine into my 04 cooper, as there is no need for a scoop...
but she likes her car and that is what matters in the end to each their own
but this year we have some legit people from the industry, former alumni, like people from car magazines and some companies eg (SRT for the domestic class) dunno who the european judge is off the top of my head

Good to hear...the only time I won anything of value was at a concours where the judges were actually professional "car designers"

btw for those that don't know their way around ann arbor
look for the intersection of Bonisteel Blvd (black) and Murfin Rd (blue) in Ann Arbor 48109 on mapquest or the like
as for the red part which i added to the map:
the box is where the cars are going to be
if you are going to be in the show drive into the semicular drive where there will be a booth (the bright green) for you to check in and get your space number
