MINI's Great Lakes Crossing.2006

Dear MINI and Mini Enthusiasts,
On the 29th September, Michigan MINI Motor Club is holding an event we have named “MINI’s Great Lakes Crossing” This is an official invitation for members of you club / group to join us for this event or even parts of the event.

This event is a scenic tour of Lake Michigan, with special stops on route. This is fall in northern Wisconsin, Michigan Upper Peninsular and Northern Lower Peninsular and the fall colors should be spectacular at this time of year

The Tour will depart from Motor City MINI in
Shelby Township (a suburb of Metropolitan Detroit) on Thursday September 28th. Caravanning to Muskegon Michigan, gathering more MINIac’s in Lansing and ]Grand Rapids on the way. Hopefully in Muskegon we will be joined by West Coast Michigan MINIac’s as well as MINIACS from Neighboring states, for a meet and greet. (party for a while)

1st Night Stop Over Muskegon. (Discount accommodation being negotiated).

The official 1st day of this event will be Friday 29th September.

Friday morning after breakfast the group will head to the Lake Express Ferry (www.lake-express.com ). For the 10:15 am ferry crossing to
Milwaukee. (We have reserved the crossing for MINI’s and Mini’s only. The ferry has a capacity of only 50 cars).

The Ferry crossing duration is approximately two & half hours. A good opportunity to get to know people and chat a while. A welcome lunch is planned when we arrive in
Milwaukee.

After lunch, the cruise will continue along the cost line, through
Sturgeon Bay, with a stop over in Green Bay WI. (Discount accommodation being negotiated).

On Saturday morning the cruise will make a short stop at Lambeau Field, before continuing the tour along the
Wisconsin coast into Michigan’s Upper Peninsular. Saturday’s evening stop will be in the vicinity of the Mackinaw Bridge.

Depending upon driver & passenger’s individual plans, several routes for Sunday are available from making an express trip back to South East M
ichigan & Ohio via I75, or a relaxing cruise along the east cost of Lake Michigan. To an extra night’s stop in Traverse City.

Some important information:

The cost of the
Lake Express Ferry is as follows:
$50 per car
$45 per person over 17 years.
$25 per person between 5 – 17 years.
Children under the age of 5 go free.

Michigan MINI Motor Club has decided to make this event a charity event. The charity that has been selected by the organization committee is the “MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION”. Therefore we are asking each participant to assist is raising money via sponsorship for the charity.

Registration:
Registration is free, but we would like you to register with Michigan MINI Motor Club in order that we have your name and other details for hopefully some prizes goodies and give-aways.
Send all event registrations TheWrks@michiganmini.org It will be forwarded to MINIGLC@michiganmini

You will need to make your own ferry reservations on the
Lake Express and accommodations. (Accommodation reservation details to follow)

For the negotiated discounted rate on the Lake Express above, please contact Kay Collins Tel # (414) 727 7792, don’t forget to mention your are with MichiganMINI and specify this event.
