Ode to a CR/B MCS:

We saw you on the road --
I-95, headed north over the
Gold Star Bridge in New London, CT.
Far from home.
You have a foxy car,
With foxy rims
(are they black/machined ASA AR1s?)
and loads
and loads
of vinyl.
You have Dragon vinyl...
And MINIs on Top vinyl...

Oh, CR/B MCS!
You rule the bends and
Bend the rules.
(I know because your boot says so)

Alas, we waved;
And gave a thumbs-up.
But you did not see us, CR.
You did not see
2 idiots
Flailing
In a silver Z4.

We weep.
We weep.

And wish you happy motoring.

Hey Toast, can I copy this to our michiganmini.net "MINI Sightings" thread, or would you care to? Rick (Wrecker) would get a kick out of being spotted but I don't think he comes here much.

OmToast,

Sorry we did not see you guys, the Z4's usually catch my attention, love em. We have been on the road since last Friday, and have got lost (missed turns) too many times. We must have been looking at the map trying not to miss the bridge.

It was great reading the poem, I feel imortalized, and will copy and save it. I have only been spotted once since 9/05 when I got my MINI, so being spotted and seeing it on NAM (after a referral) was great.

We are on our way to MOT, taking the long way, through DC, then Cape Cod. Will go up to Maine after MOT and home through New Brunswick, Quebek and Ontario. By the end of next week, the MINI (DB) will anve been in 42 states and 3 Provinces.

Thanks for making our day.

Rick

Wow! AWESOME road trip!

I'm not surprised you didn't see us -- Leif generally drives at least mach 6 over the Gold Star, so you'd really only notice a dark SILVER streak as it flys past, then the sonic boom a few seconds later

It was cool spotting you! You have a VERY foxy car. Super clean for such a roadtrip. I'm impressed! Hope you enjoy MOT (I missed registration... again) and the rest of your trip. And glad you liked the poem

Here's a cool shot of Wrecker winning the AutoX at the Dragon. Hope he wasn't on 3 wheels when you saw him!
