Service Recs in Lansing/East Lansing - or within 150mi

Hey fellow Michigan NAM'rs - I've got a problem and hope someone can help me out.

Are there any reputable service locations around here? I'm looking for a place to handle the usual (oil change, filters, tune up, etc.) and maybe a few light mods (brakes, bushings, sway bars, etc) and have had NO luck over the past 7mos. I'd like to find that place that isn't opposed to me bringing in my own parts from Moss, ALTA, MINIcarparts.net, etc.

I like to hear your experiences, what you had done, cost factor, parts issues, etc. If a shop is highly recommended, I don't mind making the trek.

So if you've got ANY suggestions, please feel free to leave 'em.

As always, Thanks!!!

+1 I'm actually heading over to DT in about an hour for a sway bar install.

If it's a MINI Issue I bet they can deal with it.

I goggled/google mapped them, just over an hour away -- freakin' sweet. I'll have to take a trip down that way and see what they recommend for my R50. This is about to get good......!!!

I also have an R50 and encourage you to ask Chad for the following setup to get what power you do have to the ground better
DDM CAI
Megan Catback
TSW Damper or IE Motor mounts
BRISK Plugs or sim

Then work on the suspension to get that R50 around the corner faster then ever.

I lived in Lansing for a year a few years ago I bet with the avg Freeway speed out there you can get to DT in less then an hour, ;)

Have fun with DT and your new MINI.

Absolutely! In fact, I just got back from there and my old MCS swaybar is there waiting for you to add it to your Cooper to improve cornering.

OMG, thanks for all the info!! These are a few of the 'mods' I've been wanting to do. I'm @ 102.8k so it's replacement time!

Oh, my Hotwheels aren't new - he's been around for a while. Though I am debating moving up to a black Clubman S, now that you can have the rear trim in black as well -- a nice addition to my current Cooper.

Ok, kinda dumb question from a VERY new owner in EL - can the wiper blades be changed at the Jiffy Lube-like places? I've got a streaky one and no time to drive to DET or GR in the next couple of weeks...

Front blades are a breeze - picked up replacements @ Target. The rear insert, I'm not so sure. I usually have that one swapped out @ the dealer when I'm back in Cincinnati. I would imagine Napa or another auto parts store would have the insert. I did, a while back, order a replacement rear blade thru Moss Mini [www.mossmini.com] - item # 103-926.
