Ahh, today is THE DAY. I finally pick up the car this evening.

After having a misunderstanding with the dealer and the bank taking its time to clear out the check, I´ll take it home today.

I met Mini on monday. Big surprise is I got the bonnet stripes for free, the car was ordered with them from the plant (and I love the lookd with the bonnets).

Other impressions:

1. WOW, I love the way it looks. One of the best looking cars ever.
2. It´s really small! Gotta be careful around "Peseros" (Mini buses in Mexico that serve as public transportation and terrorists for other drivers)
3. Rims are silver, I´m going to have to paint them white
4. Skinny skinny tires, 175/65 and although pirellis, are going to be replaced for beefier 195/60 michelins as soon as possible.

Anyway, can´t wait to drive it, I´ll post the first pictures this weekend, I want to "show off" Mexico city as well and need time to go to San Angel. (Hey if people post Mini pictures in great places, we should all contribute to the tradition, right?)

Taking pics of MINIs with great backgrounds is a good idea! I'll have to start thinking of some spots here in Florida. We could start up a new gallary and call it 'Scenic MINIs' (Did I spell 'scenic' correctly??? Now all those folks in the spelling thread are going to be on me. )

So is everything OK over your way? I heard on the news there was an earthquake about 300 miles from Mexico City. I hope you and your family are well.

Lets see if as soon as calvin77 gets back from LA, we can get together and get breakfast and show off the cars.

Everything is fine, thanks for asking Cgehring.

Chobe, I would love to meet. Let´s wait for Calvin77 to get back, maybe we can organize a breakfast in a place where we can show off the cars.

I love this little thing, takes some time getting used to where things are, but once you memorize it, it´s not that bad. I actually started looking at the speedometer this morning.

We need to come with a name for the Mexican Mini Cooper Club.
Suggestions are welcome.

Hey guys, join the MINI action in Mexico. We are meeting soon!!!

We had a meet in Guadalajara in November and met in January in Mexico City. We will be meeting in San Luis Potosí for a great tour/rally/slalom weekend.

We are also organizing a raceday at the Pegaso Center (Toluca) or at the Pachuca racetrack.

See more info at http://www.MundoMINI.com

Cheers colegas!!!

Checo
