Dallas DIY Day

Note: The following is a copy from Mini of Dallas post at http://www.metroplexmini.org

_________________________________________

MINI of Dallas is proud to host our second Metroplex MINI DIY Day at MINI of Dallas / BMW of Dallas service facility on Saturday, March 8th from 9AM - ???

Bring those service items you've been meaning to take care of, and those items you've been waiting for just the right opportunity to install. We'll set aside a row of lifts in the larger BMW Service facility to help make the work easier.

Blind-Dog-Daddy (Gene) - Service Advisor, and MINI-Sheri (Sheri) from MINI Parts will both be out on the shop floor with you as will some of our MINI Service technicians to assist and answer any questions. If you need to pickup any service-related parts, fluids etc. our Parts department will be open, and as always the 10% Metroplex MINI club member discount will apply to anything you need to purchase through Parts at any time. You might want to call or visit Sheri a few days ahead of the event to make sure she has the OEM fluids, brake pads etc. that you may need.

You will need to bring all of your own tools, or plan to work with other club members who may have the necessary tools. It seems that brake work, oil changes, brake fluid flushes and perhaps a upgrade installations are being planned for this event.

We'll also provide lunch for the participants so we'll need to have an approximate headcount before March 8th. FUEGO (Kevin) will provide more details and assist us with planning this event. Look for more details shortly.

We are really excited that John Witt and the MINI of Dallas Service team will be hosting a second DIY day on Saturday March 8th. From what I understand we'll be in the larger BMW service facility again this time but John is working to make sure all of the lifts we'll have access to are in the same area, where entry and exit will be a bit easier. Bring out your self-service needs and supplies, and all of the mods you've been waiting to install. This will be a blast I promise. Come on out even if you just want to watch or help others. I'll post additional details as the event gets closer.

We all had a great day at Mini of Dallas. They really showed their commitment to our local club (yet again).

Dave takes care of a little water pump problem (and saves about $400 by doing it himself):

We had about 7 bays and lifts available to us:

Mini of Dallas "gave us" two technicians to help us out and give advice.

Brakes were changed, upgrades were done, Oil was changed. All kinds of money was saved!!

(and I personally discovered an exhaust leak just south of the cat
that I would never have found in my garage sans lift)

Thanks again Mini of Dallas!!
