Stained Glass Mini

Hey all!,

I originally posted this in the Purple thread but thought I would put it here to see if there was any interest.

I'm a stained/leaded glass artist and I created my Mini in stained glass.
I would be willing to make one for anyone else if interested.

These are custom, hand-made pieces, hand-drawn to your specifications and pattern and glass choices are submitted for your final approval.
The size is approximately 14.5" X 29", suitable for hanging in front of a standard size window. It can be made larger, but not smaller due to the detail.
It takes approx. 10 + hrs. to make plus material costs so the final price would be $300.00. Shipping would be extra. I'm located a little north of Atlanta, GA, so pickup is possible if nearby.
As you can see from the pictures, the lighting surrounding the piece affects the colors. Chrome pieces are done in mirror, and black color is not see-through.
PM me if seriously interested.

Thanks!

Great Work!

I also like to do stained glass in my spare time. My favourite part is the design.
I've been considering making a large one of my MINI, but haven't quite figured out how to do the details on the R90 wheels! Ha.

Nice work! Try to get some better photos showing direct sunlight through the panel, and I think you could get a lot of interest. I do stained glass as well, but I work with copper foil, versus the lead. I'm impressed by the cuts on some of those outer clear pieces - you must have had to do a lot of grinding, or else you're much handier than I am with a glass cutter!

The glass I used was the truest comparison to PH that I could find, so it is rather dark. The only way to make it brighter is to shine a flashlight behind it or hold it up to the sun. The picture really doesn't show the true beauty.

I rarely use my grinder, except on really sharp curves, such as the door handle or gas cap. I've been doing this constantly for 20 yrs. so I have to say, without sounding arrogant, I'm pretty d**n good.
Most of what I do are really large pieces such as entry ways(doors, sidelights, transoms) bathroom windows, and occasionally churches. I never got into copper foil too much except I do repair them from time to time.

Excellent job only a true MINI lover will devote such time and effort making such a cool stained glass jobbie..

Would it be possible for you to make a smaller version, something that can be hanged on the wall?

Thanks
