My husband and I will be coming down to Hilton Head Island for a weeks stay (arriving Jan. 11 and leaving Jan 18). We are members of the Country Roads MINI Club in WV (Charleston). This will be our first trip to the Hilton Head Island area with the MINI. My husband purchased a 2008 Ocean Blue MINI last summer. Do you have any recommendations for short day trips that would be fun/scenic in the MINI? We haven't had an opportunity to come to the Charleston SC area before, so are looking forward to our trip.

Take a day trip to Savannah. Less than an hour drive, lots of history, some excellent food.

We love HHI. Last time down we did a day trip to Beaufort, did a horse-drawn carriage tour of the town and had a fantastic meal. Lots of local history. Oh yeah, and check out the fudge store.
