NM RSe12 wheel feedback

Just picked up a 2016 JCW and am considering the NM RSe12 wheels. I am seeking feedback from anyone who has these with the sport suspension or knows someone who does. Mainly I'd like to know if there are any adverse effects on handling, added torque steer, steering response, etc. due to the different offset from stock. I hope to go with a 215/40/18 tire so I would also like to know if there would be any rubbing issues. I've seen yes and no on this. Thanks for any feedback!

215/40? Your speedo will be all over the place. Use a tyre size calculator to get the correct size:

https://tiresize.com/calculator/

I don't have the NM wheels, but the ones I have are a 45 offset with 225/35 R 18 and there is no rubbing or handling effects. A little "railroading" at times, but other then that I am happy.

the differance between the 205/40x18 and the 215/40 x18 is 1mphon the speedo.

No so... Close, but no banana.

The issue is that it is not an excuse for speeding....

"Sorry Officer, but my tyre size for the rim size is just off. You understand, don't you?"

As the speed of the car increases, the difference increases.

Now, if you opt for the 18" wheels from the factory then the speed will be correct as you'll most likely fit the same tyre, or at the very least, the same size.

I can live with the speedo difference, just hoping to see if I should expect any significant change in handling/steering.

Based on all that I've observed on this forum about the NM's I believe you should be alright....only caveat may be which offset you go with the 40mm or the 45mm offset on the NM's, and if your JCW is lowered. But, my bet is you'll be fine with either....might better measure your tires though, as they can vary depending on brand (even with the same size).

Those NM's are great looking wheels!

I am running the JCW Pro Coil overs lowered to about 25mm from tyre to wheel arch along with 45 offset wheels and 225/35 R 18 tyre and no rubbing.

Yeah it looks like the 40 offset is required on the JCW to avoid spacers. I'm not lowered so hopefully I would be OK with 215/40/18s without having to trim the wheel arches at all which I would like to avoid.
