My delivery experience
Hey guys, just in case this helps someone else set their expectations for a west coast delivery, here is the breakdown of my experience.
Car: F56 JCW hardtop 2 door
Dealer location: East Bay Mini, CA
Ordered Nov. 17th
Loaded onto boat... can't remember and tracking site is down! But was probably Dec. 15th or so.
Unloaded from boat Jan 15th (Port Hueneme)
Left VDC Jan 18th
Arrived at dealer Jan. 20th (Pleasonton, CA)
Best,
Brian

Congratulations!!!
I got mine with the 17" all season Hankook runflats and they are not grippy at all. Since I don't drive my car in the rain, I cannot answer for how good or bad they are, it is a moot point.
I am just about to place an order from the dealer for the JCW 18" spoke 506 rims, and they come with the runflat tires (no choice, and the rim and tire combo cannot be beat price wise). I am assuming you have the very same summer Dunlop run flats as well, how do you like them?

My car was delivered with 18" Cup Spokes and the 18" Cross Spokes I am running on it came in the next day. Both came with Pirelli summer runflats. I can't believe I'm saying this but they're actually working pretty good. Not the best wet conditions tire but pretty grippy in the dry. Most of all they don't have that super hard harsh ride that previous ones I've experienced did. I probably won't replace them with the same when the time comes but I do have two full sets right now.
On the cross spokes make sure you order the correct part number that clears the JCW brakes. They were originally $3200USD for wheels, tires, and sensors marked down to $2500. Mine were shipped to the dealer from Germany.

mtbscott Thanks for starting this thread. I just order my JCW on January 6th and it was built on Jan 20th. I am still waiting for the ship. This is the second MINI I have built and this is the hardest to wait for by far.
So happy you received your car. Looks fantastic. How is the performance?

Whether it was the time of year or the order timing, I ordered Nov 1, 2016 and took delivery of my F54 on Nov 30, 2016. I'm located on the Eastern Seaboard, located in close proximity (about 2 hours) to the Port of Baltimore where it came in. I'm sure this had something to do with the time frame. I think this points to transportation from the port as the real delay in the order to delivery time.

I will get up a review soon but very happy with my purchase.
As far as waiting, ASKMINI was useless, always behind. A good MA should be able to access the latest info in close to real time.
A note on ships, mine arrived a day early to Galveston and got me all excited but then it had to sit at a different pier all day because another ship was at the VDC dock. I'm sure they run a pretty tight schedule.
