just had a shop rebuild my trans in a 2004 mini (cvt).... the shop has had car way to long ...claim that they are trying to reset the trans with some type of computer to get it back in sync...... am i getting hosed ?

 

No, but they probably need the dealer to reset -- I don't know of any independent garages with the software needed

 

so there is such a thing as resetting the electronics in the trans ???

 

The "adaptations" need to be reset, and the car driven in a VERY SPECFIC manner after a fluid change or a rebuild....
You paid a shop to do it...its their job to know this stuff...
They might need to contact a qualified MINI shop, or a dealer for more info...
