Fresh Start - Build Week 37

So the main BMW VIN Decoder seems to be down so I'm using this one.
http://www.bmwvin.com
So I know from my MA that my JCW is going to be built this week so I punch in my VIN # and get some build date like 1- 1-10. So I type in a VIN with 5 digits less than mine and it gives todays date as the build date.
I just typed in 1 number away from mine and I get the 1-1-11 thing. So I realise that mine will be built in the next few hours. They have built 12 JCW US/CN models today.
Then this wave came over me. I'm thinking what time is it in Oxford right now...and I realise that my car is going to be built at 2am in the morning!!!
I hope it is not the same crew that built my last JCW! (Lemon part 2) I think that 2am must be the equivalent of the "Friday car"....
I'm thinking I should go to church this evening!!! Fingers and toes and crossed.

Well, the production could start at anytime not just when you see it on MINI's website. I wouldn't worry too much. Doing so will only lead to lose of hair, nails and sleep.

I remember when I was following my r59 three years ago. I would go to MINI/owners to follow it and it would come up with my previous build. Then I would use the VIN, I think that was it, and it came up with an 08 build date and time and say delivered at port. You're right, I love the cars that they build, but the following them, and the dealer people could stand some upgrading. In our business we often refer to World Class Service, even though I hate that phrase, I think that MINI/USA should start teaching their people this type of service.

Well they built it last night or early in the morning. It's Sept 9 car.
hemisedan. Agreed! Like a nice hotel with crappy staff ruins the experience.

I'm sure this time around things will be smooth sailing. The probability of something going wrong is incredibly low, you've already used up all your bad luck for a long time.
