Water Pump leak at 14K miles?

I am out of warranty (was thinking about buy extended, but... too late for this repair). Do I have any recourse to take up a fight with Mini? In my mind a BMW water pump shouldn't leak at 14k miles.

Anyone?

You are out of luck. I would never have bought a 6 YO used car without a warranty knowing that they have reliability problems. How much does it cost to fix?

They go pretty frequently... if you're changing pump, you'd be well served to change the 'Jarvis heart' as well... they will fail

Sometimes mini will do a good will repair. Kind of depends on the dealer unfortunately. You're well out of warranty so I'm not sure they will do much for you but it can't hurt to ask. The water pump is a known failure in these cars. The replacements are metal and typically don't leak.

+1 You can ask them first, some will do a goodwill since you are so low on mileage, but again depends on the dealer.

They now come in metal now:

Check the main thermostat while you are at it on the other side.

Good luck and hope it works out.
