Turns out. She's partially right. They're temperamental and dependent on turbo/oil care. If you change the oil often and time out the turbo - you'll survive. But the known issues have been the chain tensioner and water pump in the pre 11's. N-14s.

UPSHOT: you have to baby the turbo. I've checked this and rechecked this and double triple quadruple checked this with top Mini mechanics in Dallas and LA. The cars are not POS as some have posted but they're not for everyone. You have to be into taking care of the machine and not just drive FAST AND FURIOUS. hahaha

Having said that: I'm looking to dump my 11 JCW and move into an N18 engine ASAP. hahaha
My N18 JCW might be for sale soon..

The first two were from British Invasion Stowe Vt. I won 1st. place in my class.. I felt guilty the car was new.. 11 months.. and three months earlier I won Carlisle Elite ... I put my car in shows just because it's different (not many Factory JCWs out there) to be enjoyed, not to be judged..
But trophies and ribbons are nice..

Oh the second set were from a trip down to North Carolina, Tenn..

HAHAHA AGREE!!!! IT'S LOOKS DORKY WITH CHROME DUDE. totally agree.

been researching w/the guys on the site how best to do it. Sort of ruling out plasti dip because some guys are saying it shrinks. And ruling out tape because of the same.
