JCW Stages?

Sorry if this sounds noobish, but can someone explain the JCW stages if there are any? I keep hearing the engine kit referred to as Stage 1, but are there more stages? Like if you get the JCW suspension, that is stage 2?

I searched and couldn't find the answer. I keep hearing about stage 1 and was curious if there are any other stages.

Thanks for the help.

Not really, there is the factory JCW which is referred to as (but not by MINI) 'stage 2' and the JCW Tuning Kit (Intake/Exhaust/ECU) which is referred to as (but not by MINI) 'stage 1.'

Stage 1 is for a factory MCS who wants it to be a JCW. However, it is about 25-30 HP and 15 Ft/Lb of torque, a different transmission, different head, different turbo, different exhaust and different engine internals of a factory JCW car. So when people say they have the same thing as a "stage 2" factory JCW, when they really have an add on "stage 1" kit on their MCS, it is not remotely true. That being said, I am probably going to add the stage one kit to my MCS here shortly. The only way I will not is if my wife decides to trade in her '05 MCS on a 2011 MINI JCW Roadster convertible when they come out late in 2010, or early 2011!
