Just brought home a new 09 JCW Convertible

Took the wife car shopping today...to replace her '03 Z4 3.0....looked at several cars--cause she wasn't sure what she wanted. Her only requirements were that it had to be a convertible and it had to have a manual transmission. (she's great that way :-) I was hoping to steer her towards an S Cooper....well, the only Convertible S with Manual x-mission on the lot was an '09 JCW. (lots of just-a-cooper convertibles though) Got to negotiating w the sales rep and ended up buying it! I'm stoked! I've wanted a Mini Cooper since they reintroduced them...and even though it's "her" car...I get to play with it!

First drive impressions: Surprising pickup, great exhaust note!, torque steer(-), nice shifter, flat handling...the suspension isn't as harsh as the sport suspension on the Z-4. I'd like to out some coil-overs on it and lower it a couple of inches...but I think I'll have to wait before I start modding her new car. Anyway, I've been enjoying the forum for some time, so I'm glad to be able to participate now as an owner!

Peace to all!

Oh...Dark Silver, carbon black, Premium, Convenience, JCW! no pics yet...but you know what it looks like!

nice!

Congrats. Good idea with the coilovers. I'd probably go for TSWs KW V2 offering. Get yourself some polyurethane replacements for the front lower control arm bushes, and increase the front camber as much as you can, you'll get some damn good handling.

Welcome aboard the 09 JCW club
