Order for a 2010 works

I placed a post a few weeks back about a Mini Cooper Works that I had built out. The order was not placed yet, and you all made some nice suggestions on what I should add to the order and change. I also talked about what dealer in the Los Angeles]area I could go through and not get reamed! Well after many weeks I have settled on Long Beach Mini, My niece bought two Cooper S’s from them over the last six years (all at sticker). Last night I called and talked to Will Shaw a couple of times, he even called me back and e-mailed me exactly what he said he would in a timely manner. The car will be @ sticker with Tax & DMV fees total $35,978.36. I still need to work out the coast of the dealer installed options when the car gets closer. O and the delivery date is eight weeks. I was able to grab one of there open slots. The only catch is my $1000.00 deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE! If I have to pass on the car when it comes in the deposit can be used on another future purchase. The specs on the car are as follows.

Color
Pepper White Body Color
Body Color Roof and Mirrors

Performance
Xenon Headlamps w/Power Wsah
Rear Fog Lamp

Cockpit
Leather/Cloth Rooster Red
Leather Sport Wheel w/Multifunction
10 Speaker Hi-FI / Harman/kardon (I asked several time if the car will come with this, I told him they may not build with this before Dec, 2010. He said they where told it will come with it)
Comfort Bluetooth with USB/IPod

JWC Accessories not in Sticker price at this time.

JCW Strut Brace
Leather with carbon fiber inset shift knob.
Leather / Alcantara spot wheel w/Multifunction.
Sport Gauge kit for one / Coolant temperature

What do you guys think?
Ron

Looks pretty nice, I'd consider the white turn signals. I regretted not getting them for a few months, but I've since gotten over it

The deposit should be fully refundable. I know all the socal dealers do it as refundable. Isn't it law or something here? Something about right of refusal?

I think the msfw is standard for 2010. The strut brace is probably useless and you could get an aftermarket boost and temp gauge for less than the factory gauge kit.

Looks a little bare to me...why not splurge on some fun things like Comfort Access or factory NAV? I'd get the sunroof just to fill the empty switch. Thank goodness here in Canada we get the option of heated windshield. My OCD would really go nuts if that spot wasn't filled. White turn signals are nice too. For the minimal cost, why not. Forget the JCW strut brace. M7 one looks more OEM and serves two purposes.

Thanks guys, I like bare. I don't like sunroofs and I only wanted performance
options. The nav was a neat idea and normally I would have gone for it. But the dealer said it was not the best out there and @ $2000 a bit much. Plus I have a Blackbird to stick on the windshield. As for the clear lens, not important. The works Leather / Alcantara spot wheel w/Multifunction is cool but it is a dealer installed part. So I will have two wheels ,the one that came with the car and the Leather / Alcantara spot wheel w/Multifunction.
What is msfw? The salesman admitted that the deposit is refundable.
Thanks,
Ron

The point of the JCW is performance and added junk would take away from the experience IMO. The money spent on a sunroof would be better spent on the JCW suspension I think.

Oh yeah, heated seats are nice, even in socal

msfw was supposed to be mfsw (multifunction steering wheel), I can not spell.

the mfsw is the gives you the ability to control radio, answer phone and cruise control from the buttons on the spokes. Also think about the alcantra/CF shift knob, a little smoother on the hand and will match the JCW steering wheel. Also consider the comfort access pkg it give you the blue tooth, garage door opener on the mirror, auto wipers and you can leave the key fob in your pocket and don't have to put it in the dash slot.

I have the alcantra/CF shift knob on my dealer list in my 1st post. As for the
comfort PKG I have a garage opener remote, and I have MFW, and the blue tooth,I pod as well. I would rather spend my money on go fast parts or JCW extra stuff.
But Thanks.
Ron
