R53 JCW kit

Hi everybody.
I have a 2006 Cooper S Checkmate and I am interested in the JCW kit.
I have had a look at the Canadian Mini website and there are no prices for separate parts of the kit. When I was buying the car a couple of weeks ago (from the main dealer) they seemed really vague and disinterested in doing anything about my interests in adding the Kit. They said that it would cost about $11000 to add it and they weren't able to break it down in to sections for me.
I am assuming that a large part of the cost is related to Rims - which I'm not too interested in. Im happy with the 17" wheels that came with the car. Can anyone give me a more realistic cost for the whole kit and give me some numbers for buying sections independently of one another?

The JCW engine kit for 2005 was $4775 USD plus dealer installation, around $6500 total. I believe the 2006 version was factory installed. If the dealer starts including the JCW upgraded suspension, JCW upgraded brakes, JCW upgraded steering wheel/strut brace/CF wing/scoop/wheels, etc., you could get to $11000 with parts and install. Look at a US Mini dealer's Accessories site and you should get a sense of how it gets broken down and the costs.

that link above to morristown has pretty much the best prices for jcw kits. the engine tuning kit is pretty expensive for what you get. you also have to get it installed and programmed by dealer, which is also expensive. you can install the kit yourself, it's not terribly hard, but the dealer will rip you off for programming. probably not really worth it as an add on if you didn't get it when you ordered your car. i love jcw's tho =p the *full* kit w/ the injectors and jcw intake brings it to 207hp; -'04 cars when ordered fresh didn't have the intake and injectors, so only 200hp. the ONLY perk for getting the jcw is *authenticity* (whatever...) and reliability (warranty). the tuning kit doesn't come w/ any rims or suspension or anything else upgrade. you can get a jcw suspension kit separately; the one for r53 used to be a pretty decent deal, but i think the price may have gone up. there's a variety of jcw rims, also available separately. pretty sure your quoted $11k is for the engine tuning kit + installation. outrageous. just fyi, when ordered with your car new, the tuning kit was a ~$6k option

2006 was the first model year one could have the JCW Tuning kit (engine) with limited slip differential OPTION from the factory or the old way, Mini dealership installed.
