Rockridge, hope it works for you. Generally, I would say it is much better but when you are using power or at WOT, the exhaust sound will still be loud.
In the passenger compartment, you should do under the rear seat and in the trunk area. I used Dynamat extreme but you could use almost anything including fatmat etc, but use the good stuff, the ones with multiple different layers including something like asphalt. I did a little in the rear passenger and trunk on the sides but that is a pain with the panels to be removed.
NOTE-Be careful that you get the Dynamat or whatever brand you choose for flooring. According to the car stereo guru who just did the speaker upgrade on mine door Dynamat is different from floor Dynamat. Reason? Each are designed do deaden likely frequencies (tire/road noise from floor and wind noise from doors)
