I am in need of a puller for a JCW pulley. If anyone has one that they are will to let me barrow I will pay shipping both ways and if I dont damage the JCW pulley getting it off I will send it to you with the puller when I'm done.
We just did this on saturday. The ALTA doesn't fit, we ground it down a little, and it still didn't fit, but got some purchase on the outer wall.
Tried pulling, and snapped 1/2 the outer wall right off.
Took a grinder to it, got as close to the sc shaft and housing as possible without hitting it, then jammed a chisel in the slot, from the side to try to spread the cut. Once it started moving (further on the shaft) we put the puller back on and it came off.
I had a lot of trust in the guy that did the work, and the fact that there were 3 space S/C sitting on the bench next to me said "It's going to be okay one way or another" But I would not recommend putting yourself through cutting the Works pulley off.
the Mini Madness puller might work better, but I'd give'm a call and see before just buying.

I guess I should have updated this. I did finally get it off. used a heavy duty 2 jaw alternator pulley puller. It kept slipping and did a fair bit of damage to the pulley (maybe the sawz all helped with the damage ) But in the end putting a hose clamp around it pulley and puller (to keep the puller from spreading) slipped the pulley the pulley off the shaft like it was cool. Probably would not have damaged the pulley at all if we tried that first.
BTW if anyone has ever driven a JCW with a 19% pulley it could never think 11% is enough.
Not to bring this back up, but the ALTA puller isn't designed for use on the the JCW S/C Pulley.
Also, we offer the 2% / 3% / 4% Crank Pulley Upgrade which will allow you to increase the boost, and not risk damage to the JCW S/C or the pulley. The OEM JCW pulley should be roughly 14% smaller than the Cooper S pulley, so using a 3% Crank gets you to that sweet spot of 17% reduction.
Adam,
I thought the OEM JCW pulley was less than 12% (not 14%) smaller than the normal Cooper S pulley? Thus adding a 3% Crank pulley would be closer to a 15% reduction.

Previous measurements showed them to be closer to 14%. But hey I can always be wrong!
Great to hear that they are closer to 14%. I have not measured for myself but have seen many posts where people stated they measure <12%.
Thanks for the reply.
