What number is my JCW?

I know that our cars are not numbered or officially a limited production run but I am curious to find out what number my JCW Mini is for the year. Any way to tell? I want to get GP style numbers for my roof and need four digits so thought this may be a cool thing to put there..

I've heard some folks say there is something different about the JCW's VIN sequence, but I don't see anything that differs from my former '08 MCS. My insurance policy doesn't mention JCW either so I don't think you're going to find anything unique about your VIN.

here is something I just noted from the MINI's off the FEDORA:
all the JCW hardtops last 6 numbers start with F97 then the last 3 numbers are in order, we had 328,329,334,336,337,338,343.
and all the JCW rag tops last 6 start with K19 then the last 3 numbers are in order, we had 596,600
and the JCW clubman last 6 start with L04 and the last 3 were 109.
seems to be a pattern

pocket rocket~ what are your last 3 numbers?

Actually, part of that is true but not all of it. Based on my ownership of various MINIs and what I see in inventory at dealers throughout the US, here is what appears to be the case:

WMWMF935XXXXXXXXX = JCW Hardtop
WMWMM935XXXXXXXXX = JCW Clubman
WMWMS935XXXXXXXXX = JCW Convertible

I believe the last 6 digits represent the series (order), but I don't know about the 3 in the middle..........

It looks like JCW hardtops and Clubmans BOTH have TF or TL in the last 7 digits depending on production date. Earlier models have TF while later ones have TL. JCW Convertibles have TK in the last 7......keep in mind they were just introduced so they might all have K in the VIN.

Here is what the BMW/MINI guy told me when he called today. (the other day)
1st three numbers are the manufactures code = WMW MINI Division
the next five numbers are the Chassis Identification
he wasn't really sure of the 9th numbers meaning
the 10th = Model yr 200#
11th = Production Plant T = Oxford
12th is the Model number
and the last 5 are the Production series numbers

MF93 is (USA) MF92, MF91 are JCW hardtops that are not shipped to the US
MS93 is (USA) MS92, MS91 are JCW convertibles not shipped to the US.
MM93 is (USA) MM92, MM91 are JCW clubmans not shipped to the US.
but we are trying to find the series of production, which would be in the last series of numbers.
The "T" is for the production plant location "Oxford" so you are going to find that "T" in all the MINI's

pocket rocket~ what are your last 3 numbers?
Everything you said stands true.. 348 is my last three vin number which makes sense because I was built slightly after yours.

Why not just pull 3 of the numbers from your VIN and just use that

Interesting. I assumed the factory JCW had a production number like the R56 stage 1 kit or GP. Wonder why they chose not to...

I guess if you went by what the guy told me from BMW/MINI, that the last 5 numbers were the production series numbers. then your full number would be 97348. with our MINI's so close to each other the first 2 numbers would not change for a while, I don't know does anyone have a VIN that the last 6 numbers starts with F96?? surely they have made more than 300 some JCW's. My last three are 334.

The 9th number is the check digit. Determined by finding the sum of the weights of all the numbers/letters in the vin and dividing by 11. The remainder is the check. 0/11 is zero, 1/11 is 1 .... all the way upto 10/11 which is X.

Edit couldnt remember where I found that, here it is:
