Aftermarket Driving Lights for 09 JCW

I am thinking of adding driving light to my 09 JCW and I need some help.

I DONT want to drill into the bumper.

I DONT want to mount them in the lower grill area (I read somewhere that the intercooler needs all the air it can get and seems like adding 2 or 4 lights there would really hinder its operation)

I would like to set it up to work off my "rear" fog light switch instead of having a separate switch mounted. That should be possible right?

I DONT want to use OEM lights.

If you have aftermarket driving lights set up on a late JCW would you please give me any advise or suggestions on where to buy and what to buy and if you dont mind the avg price it cost you? Also any pictures you have of your car with the lights would be great.

Thanks,

Best of luck. I have not read of anyone successfully using the rear fog light switch for this. I am sure if you have some circuitry and soldering skills you might be able to do so, but not sure.

There are a million threads here about aftermarket lights, but the one that will help is the Show Me Your Driving Lights thread. I believe it is in electrical. Find something you like and PM the poster.

I just did this to my 08 MCS. I mounted two Hella 500 lights. What i did was got some plumbing pipe that is a down sizing pipe. And 2.5 inch bolts. I put the bolts through the mounting part that comes with the light and then through the plumbing tube and through the grill. On the back of the grill i put a plate that i got at home depot along with everything else. I tightened all the bolts down but not to tight as the grill is just plasti. Doing it this way you can mount them anywhere you want on the grill. I'm going to mount two more in the center.

I know this is a little confusing but it is really easy and doesn't look bad at all. I'll get some pictures up soon. All the home depot parts came to be 13 bucks and that was for both lights. It took me about 30 minutes to mount the. i still have to wire them i'm just gonna wait till i add the other two later this week so that way i'm just doing all the wiring at once.

I'll try and get them up sometime this week. I've been trying to get a lot of new mod pictures up but work has been so crazy I just want to relax when I get home.
