Well, I did it... new JCW.

Well, my impatient azz has gotten weary of waiting for a tuner to come out with something for the R56.

The JCW stage I kit has become complacent so tonight I traded it in for an '09 Mellow Yellow JCW.

Though I took a beating on my trade-in, the new interest rate will more than make up for the difference that I'm losing.

Anyway, another JCW'er here.... I've got a bunch of mods to do. (powdercoat wheels black, JCW aero kit, stripes, clear bra, JCW suspension, etc, etc)

I'll post pics when it gets done....

Mark

Gratz I saw your post in one of the other threads. Glad you got a great deal on the financing.

sounds SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

Congrats and now the fun of modding begins !

I think I'll be buying a new MINI in a few years, not because mine will be run down or anything, but because I'll want a new toy to MOD !

Again... congrats and can't wait to see the pics.

Mark,

You know the drill. Post a few before pictures so we can be amazed and envious of the finished product.

Congrats, I like MY with black wheels. I do like the JCW Challenge wheels, I might have to trade off my Webbies.

Don

Thanks guys.... I'll post pics but I've got a lot of stuff to do before it's ready so it may be a while.

Hell, I'm probably not going to drive it until it's done.

Congrats Mark!

And you never answered my question from the other thread, can you give a quick "seat of the pants" comparison to the new JCW with your old "S"?

Congrats Mark!! You bringing it to RRR next weekend? What a great way to break it in....you don't have pound on it, but it would be a great break in between the drive down and back and some medium track use as you learn the car. Assuming I don't have student overload, I'd be glad to take you out and show you some of the changes the mods have made so far......Be nice to have another one on the track....

Thanks guys (and girl) I'm getting kind of excited now. I did the paperwork last night but I still have my car. Part of the deal was that I get to keep my JCW aero kit.

So I kept it at the bodyshop and took off the JCW kit. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anyone at the dealer to call me back to see if they had the clips I needed to put the stock kit back on.

By after 5pm, they finally called and I drove to the dealership to get the clips only to find out they still didn't have all I need.

The new clips won't be in till Friday and Friday at noon I have to go to Tampa. (gotta drive a motorhome, so can't take the car anyways.)

Point is, at this rate, I may not get the car till Monday.

Oh well.... soon enough.

Sorry Bruce.... I didn't really pound on it but did put it through it's paces. The car seemed to pull a little harder on bottom end to midrange. It might be because it's a stick compared to my automatic.

It was kind of hard like I said since I didn't hammer it.

But I will.

Gordon, ABSAFREAKINLUTELY!!!! I almost find it funny that I buy a brand new car and within 3 days after I get it, I'm taking it to the track....

Ironically, I think that the trip (including track time) would be the PERFECT break-in.

It'll give me a GREAT chance to learn the car because otherwise I'd be hammering on it. Absolutely perfect.

And as far as taking me out on the track to show me what the differences, I'll gladly take you up on that. Anytime I get the chance to have someone better than me show me a car or the track, I'll be all over it.

Cya soon.

Mark

Giddyup! Factory JCW! Any chance I can get a ride at RRR? (Not on the track, per se, but out and about.) I'm gonna have to do a bit of staring. Damn! That's awesome, Mark.

Thanks Ben....sure you can get a ride...a test drive if you'd like.

There won't be much to stare at. By the time I get the car, I won't have a chance to even paint the aero kit so it'll be bone stock.

I ended up getting it from Charlotte, I tried to deal with Charleston but they could only do so much.... perhaps next time.

8 days!! I hope my helmet comes in. I ordered a new SA helmet and it showed up yesterday.

I could only stick half my head in it. (my wife says I have a big head... (not meant the way I'd like it to be...))

Mark

PS. Are you gone yet?
