Machining slotted rotors?

My mechanic told me that slotted rotors cannot be resurfaced.... can anyone verify that for me? I am replacing my Carbotech XP10 pads (with another set of XP10 ... yummy) and I want to go the 'right and proper' route as spec'd by Carbotech and have the rotors cut.

Thanks!

From a machinists point of view, I don't know why you couldn't resurface them; I've machined parts with an interrupted cut hundreds of times.
And rotors are only cast iron; it's not like they're nasty powdered-metal tool steel or something.

But I don't do automotive work, so I can't say for certain what the reasoning is in this case.
If it's only because they're using a carbide cutter (which can tend to chip because of the interrupted cut), they should certainly be able to use a high-speed steel cutter and avoid that problem.
