Does anyone know if the 2006 mini cooper jcw oem springs fit a 2002 mini cooper s, and does anyone have them on there r53,,how do they feel, did they lower the car, are they worth installing????
The JCW springs from a 2006 MCS should fit a 2002 MCS if built March 2002 and later. There is some difference before March 2002.
There are at least three different spring rates for the JCW springs depending on the model car. I have never seen the actual JCW spring rates published anywhere. I have JCW springs with a yellow stripe on my 2006 MCS GP. They seem a little stiffer then H&R Springs I had on my 2003 MCS but some of the stiffness difference could be the JCW shocks verse stock stocks.
The JCW springs lower the car about 1/2". The JCW springs/shocks are really nice if you can get them for a good price otherwise I would look at other aftermarket springs. There are many other spring options if you want to go lower than 1/2". I personnally like about a 1" drop.

Originally, the 1st Gen JCW suspension kit was only released for MINIs produced after 07/04 (see here). Later, they updated the kit to add support for older MINIs (see here).
Personally though, if you're thinking of putting JCW springs on your MINI, why not just put the entire JCW suspension kit on too? (i.e. shocks as well) After all, they are designed and tested to work together.
There's another JCW suspension retrofit PDF here too.
I found the springs for $100.00.. And I will be using my stock shocks for now.. I also like to lower my cars 1'' MAX.. But I guess 1/2 is what I will be getting from the jcw oem springs right?
The drop depends a little bit on the weight of your car but the drop should be about 1/2" maybe a little more.
I agree with Edge that the JCW springs and JCW springs work very well together. If you can find some JCW shocks at a good price to go with your JCW springs that would be a good combo.
If you have not already purchased the JCW springs, you should be able to find other used aftermarket springs for $100 or less. I sold my H&R springs for $50. Look in the NAM marketplace.

This might not help much for your 2004 MCS since there are various JCW spring rates but the JCW springs on my 2006 MCS GP are P/N:
Front 31336768415
Rear 33536768417

Chili R - what you should know is that there are a variety of JCW spring part #s. Which ones you should use depends on the equipment in your MINI. I think the two differentiating factors are sunroof yes/no and auto vs. manual transmission.
When ordering the JCW suspension via a dealership, they are supposed to use your VIN to determine which springs to sell you. The VIN is used to look up the specifications (as above), so that you get the appropriate spring rate.
That is why this page on RealOEM.com states "Only with springs, see springs table". The springs are listed on a separate document that the dealerships can look up.
If you answer the above questions (sunroof/transmission), I will try to look up the proper part numbers for you, but I might not be able to.
I have a 2006 JCW with JCW suspension and sunroof, manual xmission, might be just right for your car, has about 10,000 miles on it--it's coming off next month for coilovers--let me know if you're interested.

I found the initial drop was 1/2" as advertised, but they settled in after about a thousand miles at a total 1" drop. This is an uncompromised performance ride. It will never be confused with a comfort ride. I love it..my wife hates it. She opted for the sport susp rather than the JCW on her '09.
Thanks, quick response Yes I have sunroof and all options ( weight ) manual trans and aero kit. Let me know and thanks again
Sorry to say that I couldn't access the "springs table" like I thought I might be able to, so I couldn't look up the part numbers. Bear in mind that your 06/04 MINI was made before the "tech refresh" so the correct part numbers might be different for your MINI vs. the 05/06s.
It seems that consulting your dealership (or someone here who works at a dealership) to confirm the correct part #s might be a good idea.
Thanks for the info. I am checking with local dealer and having him check the spring tables. I will let you know, and I may check into the member who is changing to coil overs later next month
I changed to the JCW suspension set up and it is very good IMO.. I was considering just getting the springs too but it just worked out more expensive (was only a little more money for the full kit so went for it!), this is my car the day after fitting for ride height judgments:
