Spark Plug replacement

I have a 2005 JCW. Have read many posts on when to change out plugs . At what mileage should this be done? At 10K , 20K, or later. Also am thinking about Brisk plugs. What is the right gap for these plugs .028,.030 or other? Any info helpful.

Should be done with the Inspection 1 service on any JCW car. That being about 30k miles. They SHOULD come pre-gapped, so don't worry about that but make sure to torque them to 30nm.

I did not find a definitive time when to change the plugs so I did mine at about 35,000. When removed the plugs looked like it was a good time to replacement them. It made a slight improvement in idle and smoothness. I installed Brisk DR12S plugs. The gap was very small (0.015 -0.020) when I recieved the plugs. Alta suggests 0.026 gap. I set them at 0.028, others have set them at 0.030. Anywhere around 0.0280 should be good.

Not sure about the gap....but motoring file did dredge up a mini sb along time ago about jcw plugs on gen1 cars....I think they said every insp2. A quick search will tell ya....I'm on a moble so it's tough for me to do it, or I would find it for ya, and paste it for you!!

Edit: MF says every service interval is new plugs for a JCW.
