JCW intake question

So, after taking out the entire intake box to get the filter out so I could replace the factory filter with the K&N replacement, I need to know what the deal is with that little hose off the left/front of the intake box. I have reinstalled the intake box with the new filter and everything else, but . . . Does this hose connect to anything other than the box? Thanks.

Where? Can someone enlighten me to the picture on the bottom of page 6?
Are you talking about the A/C compressor? Photos of what its supposed to look like?

The airbox has a small, hard plastic vac line coming out the front (6). This has a white barb connector on it. It plugs into a black rubber vacuum hose (5) that connects to a "T" fitting (3) spliced into the bypass valve (2) vacuum hose. The bypass valve diaphragm unit is the little (2" diameter) black thing with the vacuum hose connected to it.

It's under the intercooler horn in this photo:

You can see the JCW airbox vac line connected to the rubber vacuum hose here. Somewhere, you have a loose hose floating around under that waiting to be plugged back in... it's a tight area to get your hand into...

Very nice. Thanks a ton. The "under the intercooler horn" was the key to that. Took off the intercooler cover then pushed aside a braided wrap and waaaaaay down in there was a little nipple that needed a hose. Motor On!

No it is not. I believe the kit that comes with larger injectors may be that way, but just the intake works fine on non-JCW cars. Mine has worked flawlessly on my non-JCW for 45,000 miles. It's a very nice intake.

What about programing The Ecu , I Mean The lip that opens after 4.500 Rpm , to do that its said that you need to reprogram the Ecu , Did you remove the Lid ?? . My JCW Cold Air Intake is coming this week but I heard that every one is removin' the Lid since they can not program the Ecu.

No ECU programming required for the airbox. Only for the injectors. Just install the airbox following the instructions and the flap will work JUST FINE as designed.

Good point, obaspinar. why can't they get re-programming? Is official jcw tuning required to operate the 4500 lip? If so, that renders the cost for the jcw intake moot, doesn't it? there's too many CAIs out there that look great, return results & add meaty sound.
