I have a 2006 R53 JCW with adjustable camber (front). But I can´t find anywhere how much the camber on frontwheels should be. Right now they are on negative 1.60 degrees, but a normal Cooper S approx 0.40 degrees negative as standard measure. Can anyone give me approx measure on the frontwheels, how much is normal measure. The car is not for racing.
Depends on how you want the car to handle vs. a little more tire wear. Most people with adjustable camber plates do not set the camber at a normal/stock setting. For best handling, most people run around -2.0 degrees on the front. However, that amount of negative camber will tend cause more wear on the inside edge of the tires especially depending on the amount of toe and how often you rotate tires (less toe = less wear). With or without negative camber my tires last less than 20,000 miles so a little extra wear due to negative camber does not make a big difference. I feel that the better handling is well worth a little less tire life.
I run -2.2 camber and slight toe-in on the front.
I run -1.6 camber (least I can get with stock adjuster) and slight toe-out on the rear.
My car is daily driver.
